The idea of Monsters vs. Aliens began as a adaptation of Rex Havoc, a horror comic book. In it, Susan is a sexually attractive bombshell and follower of Rex Havoc. Gallaxharwas originally a female whose mission changed from disrupting cable TV service to harvesting Earth's natural resources.
